The Film Commission Bavaria offers comprehensive consulting and information services for the film and television industry. Complication-free access to every location - that is the goal of the Film Commission Bavaria, a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). It´s a contact and information point for producers, line producers and production managers, where they can get information about the responsible authorities, location scouts, studios, labs, rentals etc.

The Film Commission Bavaria is charged with improving the shooting conditions in the production location of Bavaria and simplifying permit procedures. It advises and informs about the production possibilities in Bavaria and is the contact point for questions during a project`s preparation and shoot. In principle, all squares, streets and buildings in Munich can be used for filming. The other Bavarian towns are known for uncomplicated processing of shooting permits. The office will also step in and try to help if there are any difficulties.

As a partner of Focus Germany, a joining together of the seven biggest film funding institutions, the FFF`s Film Commission attends international trade shows and is present at (inter-)national film festivals in order to promote the region Bavaria as a convenient and multi-faceted place to shoot films.

In April 2004, the FFF Film Commission Bavaria initiated a task force called "Shooting in Munich". Members are representatives of public authorities, production services and the film industry. The task force coordinates difficulties before shooting starts thus preventing unnecessary conflicts.

Furthermore the FFF`s Film Commission regularly publishes the "Location News Bavaria", a newsletter with currently available motives.

The handbook "Film Producer`s Checklist", published in English and established together with the FFF`s information office, offers even more information, such as statistics and facts about "land and people", an overview of the most important Bavarian towns which are suitable for shooting as well as an overview of city- and state owned buildings which require a shooting permit. The substantial address-section includes a list of service companies, distributors, rental equipment suppliers and postproduction companies.
